We are looking for an experienced and motivated Equipment Rentals Manager to lead and grow our equipment rental operations in Saskatoon.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who understands the equipment industry, enjoys working with customers, and has the leadership and business skills to develop a profitable and well-managed rental department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the rental operation, including fleet utilization, customer relationships, rental sales, equipment availability, pricing, and profitability.

About the Role

As Equipment Rentals Manager, you will take ownership of the rental department and play an important role in developing a strong rental business within Earthworks Equipment Corporation.

You will work closely with our sales, service, parts, and management teams to ensure rental customers receive excellent service and that our rental fleet is maintained, utilized, and managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Rental Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the equipment rental department.
  • Develop and implement rental processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain accurate rental fleet records, availability, utilization, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate equipment preparation, delivery, pickup, inspection, and return processes.
  • Monitor fleet condition and work closely with the Service Department to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure rental equipment is clean, safe, properly maintained, and ready for customers.
  • Monitor rental contracts, extensions, off-rent equipment, damage, and outstanding issues.

Fleet and Financial Management

  • Monitor rental fleet utilization, revenue, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Make recommendations regarding fleet additions, replacements, and disposal.
  • Identify underutilized equipment and develop strategies to improve its performance.
  • Monitor rental rates against market conditions and competitive offerings.
  • Control rental department expenses while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Prepare and monitor rental department budgets and forecasts.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for the rental department.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and grow Earthworks Equipment Corporation's rental customer base.
  • Proactively identify new rental opportunities and develop relationships with contractors, municipalities, agricultural customers, industrial customers, and other businesses.
  • Establish rental rates and pricing strategies that support fleet utilization and profitability.
  • Follow up on rental leads and opportunities.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities to increase rental frequency and customer retention.
  • Work with the Sales Department to identify opportunities where rentals can support equipment sales.

Customer Service

  • Provide a high level of professional service to rental customers.
  • Ensure customers receive the right equipment for their application.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and rental trends.
  • Maintain regular contact with key rental customers to identify upcoming needs.
  • Load and un-load equipment safely.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in the equipment rental, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial equipment, or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and/or agricultural equipment.
  • Proven sales and customer relationship skills.
  • Experience managing equipment, fleet, inventory, or rental assets.
  • Strong business and financial understanding.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to negotiate effectively and make sound business decisions.
  • A demonstrated ability to build relationships and develop new business.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn rental and dealership management systems.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.

Previous management or supervisory experience is an asset.

We are looking for a relationship-focused Sales Representative to take over an established customer portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to build on existing relationships while growing your book and representing industry-leading equipment with strong support from our Parts and Service teams.

What You'll Do

  • Sell Bobcat compact equipment, attachments, warranties, and related solutions.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Visit customer sites to understand their needs and recommend equipment solutions.
  • Deliver exceptional after-sales support.
  • Prepare quotes, complete sales documentation, and maintain customer information in our CRM.
  • Use online selling platforms to reach new customers.

What We're Looking For

  • New or established salespersons.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Experience in construction, agriculture, equipment, or a related industry is an asset.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and other business software.

Compensation:  $70,000 Salary + Manufacture spiffs

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (only 4–6 half-day Saturdays per year)

Job Summary

We are searching for two Journeyman Technicians to provide professional quality results in our rapidly growing Service department. The successful applicant will earn a guaranteed hourly wage. A comprehensive company benefits plan including boot and tool allowances and a Group RRSP plan will also be provided. All people with relevant farm, automotive, or construction repair experience and formal apprenticeship training are being considered at this time.
